I’m thinking about the Materials and Methods workshop with Tim Johnson. Could I use chalk ground on my fabric as a way of introducing opaque areas, fixing some parts of the drawing, creating the boundaries/edges I talked about with Jeanette? Would it be flexible enough? Could I do it before drawing or afterwards?
I’ve been making drawings of the view through each of the panes of the rear window in the Centre for Drawing. Today I was working on one of them but by the time I finished it the daylight had gone; the outdoor light was on and the tones changed again. It is not consistent with the other views I have drawn.
I realise that it doesn’t matter. In fact it may provide a way of making a single drawing of all 12 views which also records time passing. Or it may be a horrible mess. Only one way to find out.
