A new pixelated drawing

I’ve animated the stages of my new drawing Tanhurst House/Piazza Epiro which you can see on my portfolio page.

I like the way the underlying photo transfers of the block where we lived as children, Tanhurst House, work under the pixelated image of my sister and me in her flat in Rome in the 1970s. The graphite sits on the acrylic transfer surface very well and there is an interesting level of ambiguity created by the show through of the transfer image in the paler areas of the graphite one.

What I’m thinking about now is creating a pixelated drawing which overlaps two different base layers, allowing me to create links between them.
