Our degree show is the final one we will do as a group, and we are installing it jointly with the MA Painting students.
I was part of the joint curatorial team, that made proposals for allocating spaces to individuals, taking into account the work they wanted to show and any constraints about size, lighting, and so on.
As well as marketing the show through the course Instagram and Twitter feeds, I volunteered to takeover the college Instagram feed for a day. I did it on a day when we were starting the show build, and posted a mix of ‘behind the scenes’ shots, and work in progress. We got good responses and recruited new followers for the college feed, the course feed and for individual students who were featured – nicely illustrating the networking potential of Instagram.
